When choosing a builder, you should acquaint yourself with a company that will be investing many months in making sure your home becomes a reality. I’ve spent my entire life in the homebuilding industry in the Fort Worth area. Growing up in a family business, you start young, learn from the legacy, and see how each generation brings their own passion, knowledge, and creativity.
Since the 1940s, my family has been in some form of real estate business—from a successful lumber company to Sabine Valley Homes and everything in between. Sabine Valley Industries was our lumber business and was originally located on East Belknap near Riverside Drive, which eventually led to our company name.
My grandfather, C.P. Hadley, founded the business. My father, M.B. Fleet, worked for his father-in-law, C.P., and then took over in the early 1960s. Both served as president of the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association.
I joined the business full-time in 1980, after earning my BBA from the University of Texas. My dad and grandfather both passed away soon after. Things became tough when the savings and loan crisis ravaged businesses everywhere in the late ’80s. We struggled through those hard times. I recall one August when we used my wife’s American Express card to buy meals from Whataburger for that entire month because the restaurant was the only one to accept credit cards at that time. We didn’t have any money for groceries.
We never gave up. Our family and team innovated and adapted, always remaining confident in our drive to build. There is no doubt hard work and perseverance pays off.
Over the years, I learned that the quality of your team will get you through tough times. We had—and still have—a great team of experienced individuals who are deeply committed to our vision: making our homeowners happy and doing what’s right. No builder is perfect. Neither are we, but we try hard every day to make the experience exciting, satisfying, and easy for our customers.
Our customer satisfaction surveys tell us 97% of our homeowners would refer us to others looking to buy a new home. So, we must be doing something right.
My name is Tim Fleet, president and founder of Riverside Homebuilders. I am proud to be a third-generation homebuilder and I sincerely hope you love your new home!
At Riverside Homebuilders, our goal is to make your journey to owning your dream home as enjoyable as possible. Buying and building your new home is exciting and you should get to enjoy watching your home become a reality. Home is where your story begins.
We purchased our Riverside home completed but new in the Crossroads at Rough Creek Development. We were looking in the Godley area and assumed we would buy a lot then build eventually but fell in love with our home and community and happily bought! The craftsmanship, materials, build quality and attentions to detail were second to none. Everything is of the highest quality and we couldn't be happier during our first month in our home. Since we purchased our home already completed we didn't have a lot of contact with the Riverside sales team but Dianne was really helpful and patient with all of our questions and home visits during our purchase process. It seems mundane but one of the highlights of our purchase experience were the walk-through's with Colin. He couldn't have been nicer and again patient as he showed us the features of our home and explained how things would work before and after closing. I honestly expected the walk-through process to be be me trying to convince Collin and Riverside to fix the minor things we found but contrary to what i though Collin found things to fix that my untrained eye didn't see and he conscientiously made sure everything was as perfect as he could make for us to move in. He treated our home like his own which gave us great peace of mind moving into our beautiful new home. Great work Riverside Homebuilders!
