The Parker County Sheriff’s Posse was originally founded in 1947, with the intention of keeping alive the traditions of the Old West, and the rich heritage of Texas. Parker County Sheriff’s Posse also presents the Frontier Days Rodeo, a PRCA sponsored rodeo event. The rodeo puts on many activities for the whole Weatherford community, from concerts and parades to cattle drives and trail rides. Trips to the rodeo will be guaranteed fun for the whole family, while also getting to glimpse a nostalgic snapshot of the Wild West.

You could also take a trip back to the good old days at the Parker County Peach Festival, held in Historic Downtown Weatherford. This fun festival takes place on the second Saturday of July every year. In 2019 more than 60,000 folks attended this fantastic one-day event, where they got to enjoy food and entertainment booths, live music from local artists, children’s events, and over 200 arts and crafts! They also present the Peach Pedal Bike Ride, an annual fundraising event for the United Way of Parker County and the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce. All funds raised through this marathon will provide important funding for a variety of non-profits in the Weatherford community. This year will mark the 36th Annual Peach Festival. 

Weatherford also presents Spark in the Park, one of the largest and most impressive Independence Day firework displays in North Texas! This event is hosted at the Heritage Park Amphitheater and is accompanied by amazing musical performances. This year Spark in the Park was headlined by Blue Öyster Cult and opened by the excellent Texas Clearwater Revival. Food and beverages are provided, with everything from Tailgater’s BBQ to Juliebeans Icecream. Kids will enjoy a variety of activities in between the concerts and fireworks, such as water slides, bounce houses, cornhole, and giant Tic Tac Toe. This fantastic event is also completely free to attend!
