Make the Most of Summer: Head to the Lakes!

Indian Harbor, Innisbrook Place, Kimbrough Place, and Colina Creek Estates

If you look at the calendar right now, you’re probably wondering, where did the summer go? Don’t panic. There’s still plenty of time to enjoy this beautiful Texas sunshine. Get out there and make the most of summer. Head to the lakes! Riverside Homebuilders can show you the way.

There’s nothing like a day at the lake to soothe your soul and spark your energy. One of our favorite lakes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is Eagle Mountain Lake. This man-made body is just 15 miles north of Downtown Fort Worth, so there are no excuses for missing out. And it’s well worth the drive.

Eagle Mountain Lake covers more than 8,700 acres. You can dive into your favorite water sports here—boating, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and wakeboarding, for starters. If fishing is your sport of choice, drop a line in the lake and you’re likely to haul in your share of bass (largemouth, spotted, white), channel catfish, and white crappie. You don’t even have to leave the docks to catch some beautiful bass!

You can expand your recreation at any of the parks that dot the Eagle Mountain Lake shoreline. Eagle Mountain Park, Shady Grove Park, and the new Twin Points Park present a range of opportunities, like beaches, hiking trails, playgrounds, boat launches, picnic spots, fishing piers, and even volleyball and tennis courts.

Spend a day or stick around longer. You’ll find plenty of campgrounds and hotels to make your stay comfortable. If you fall in love with Eagle Mountain Lake, why not move here? Riverside Homebuilders has communities of new construction, single-family homes nearby: Kimbrough Place in Azle (near Shady Grove Park) and Innisbrook Place in Fort Worth (near Twin Points Park and the Lake County Marina).

Just 33 miles from Dallas, Lake Lavon is a popular destination. One of the largest lakes in north Texas, the area spans 21,400 acres of crystal clear water, surrounded by 121 miles of shoreline. Rent a boat or launch your own to get out on the water and make a day of it. Relax at one of the 5 beaches or 16 parks. Camp out at any of the 71 tent sites and 167 camping sites. There’s even a 9-mile equestrian and hiking trail and a 75-acre hiking and biking trail near Lake Lavon.

Like it? Live here. While you’re visiting Lake Lavon, stop by Colina Creek Estates in Farmersville. We have homesites from 1 to 3 acres, and the low property taxes (1.59%) make living here even more affordable!

About 35 miles north of Fort Worth, explore 103 miles of shoreline that wrap around Lake Granbury on the Brazos River. The lake is long and narrow, stretching 33.5 miles. The scenic views and recreation provide plenty of incentive to spend time at Lake Granbury. The beach is free, fishing is plentiful with more than a thousand boat docks and fishing piers, and the town of Granbury is a fun place to wander, browse, dine, and shop.

When you live close to these beautiful lakes, it’s no effort to take advantage of all the activities. Life is a year-round staycation at your lake house.
