Meet Riverside Homebuilders' Veterans

Riverside Homebuilders Veterans

Meet Riverside Homebuilders’ veterans! Most know someone who has served, some know many and some of us are veterans ourselves. But if you don’t know a veteran, we’d like to introduce you to ours!

Did you know Veterans Day was once Armistice Day? This day celebrated the end of WWI on November 11, 1918. In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed legislation to honor all American veterans of all wars on the same date—November 11.

Whether you have a son, a mother, great grandfather, friend or colleague who has served, Veterans Day is a time to recognize and thank those around us for their service and sacrifice. In celebration, we’d like to recognize those who have served, including our employees. Get to know each and learn their favorite part about working for Riverside Homebuilders!

David Byers - US Army, 8 years

David started in 2016 as an Assistant Builder for Riverside subdivisions in Decatur, then transitioned to a Head Builder position at Innisbrook Place in Fort Worth. Last year he switched gears to handle the scattered lots in our inner-city Fort Worth projects. He’s found parallels in how his military background has benefited his past and present roles at Riverside.

“My time in the military taught me how to make decisions quickly and efficiently while taking into account all available information and possible outcomes. This has helped me tremendously as a builder and planning in the construction process....with foreseeing possible issues that may come up and establishing contingency plans in case things change or issues arise.”

Once dedicated to the Army for 8 years, and multiple Iraq deployments later, David is now dedicated to helping happy homeowners find their dream home. His favorite part about the job? The company culture.

“Everyone on all levels and departments of the company has a genuine care for everyone else and is willing to go the extra mile for each other without question or reservations. There is no selfish individuality; everybody is team-oriented and I believe it has been conducive to our success as a company.”

Todd Greenfield – TX Army National Guard, 9 years

As the VP of Marketing, Todd and his military background bring thoughtful leadership to Riverside Homebuilders. Dedicated to Riverside since the early days, Todd explains the most rewarding aspects of coming to work every day.

“My involvement with Riverside stems from day one and the enjoyment I receive daily comes from the extraordinary team we were able to build in a very short period of time. We started from scratch. We had nothing…I mean, nothing.”

And that team has turned into one large family. A family that has made hundreds of happy homeowners this year.

“Since inception, we’ve experienced on average 30% growth each year and it’s due in large part by this hard-working passionate group of people we call Riverside Homebuilders. We take care of each other and we take care of our homebuyers. It’s fun watching this baby grow!”

Sherri Sutton - U.S. Naval Reserves, 6 years

Imagine you found your dream home, you’re ready to buy and now close. What next? Enter: Sherri, our Contract/Closing Coordinator. She’s there to ensure the appropriate paperwork is processed on time once a house goes under contract. She might be behind the scenes, but she’s the real MVP of each transaction. Without her, your new home sale wouldn’t happen.

“My favorite thing about working for Riverside has to be the group of people we have that pulled our experience and knowledge together to start this new venture from the ground up. It is like a family working together, watching it grow with pride.”

While company success is important, homeowners are the #1 priority.

“We all are very passionate about the success of the business, but more importantly about the best experience for our new homeowners.”

Tyler Sanders – U.S. Marine Corps, 4 years

While we’re thankful for Tyler’s service in the Marine Corps and his service as a Builder Assistant, he’s thankful for working for a company that values its people—a culture built by Riverside Homebuilders' President and Owner Tim Fleet.

“My favorite thing about working for Riverside is how well they take care of their people. When it looked like I was losing my position at Lackland Security, numerous people worked hard to ensure I could have a place at the company.”

Another reason Tyler values working for Riverside Homebuilders is that the company puts family first.

“If something personal happens, everyone works really hard to make sure we get the time or resources we need to take care of it.”

Chad Robinson  - TX Army National Guard, 8 years

Texas Army National Guard veteran Chad echos Tyler’s thoughts, also adding a number of other reasons why he loves working for Riverside.

“The quality of craftsmanship and methodical approach to building our homes...energy-efficient and connected home features that absolutely help build so much value.”

As the Community Sales Manager for our Colina Creek Estates, Chad knows making happy homeowners isn’t possible without teamwork.

“Our back office team! Loan coordinators behind the scenes working hard for our buyers is huge, so are our lenders, jumping through hoops to make it happen on time. We have every aspect (of the homebuilding and homebuying process) covered from A-Z.”

From all of us at Riverside Homebuilders, have a happy and safe Veterans Day! Check out Our Story to learn more about our beginnings and values as a company.

Hear From Our
Happy Homeowners

“Just wanted to let you all know that the lending team referred to us by Kevin in Oak Ridge did a phenomenal job throughout the entire process.  The GMB-Walton team is who we were working with.  Donnie Walton had some not so enthusiastic phone calls from me and some hoops to jump through and he did it with professionalism and was so positive throughout this process.  Never has this been a wonderful process in our life it can be stressful and so personal beings they have our most personal information and details.  Please acknowledge them and their efforts.” Laura Johnson
